ProMed Proud to Provide Professional Paramedics to Bradford Pride

Bradford Pride 2018With the recently-reformed Bradford Pride event now moving from it’s first venue at Odsal Stadium to Bradford City Centre, organisers contacted Professional Medical Ambulance Services to provide a healthcare professional-led event medical, ambulance & first aid cover ensuring the safety & wellbeing of their customers.

By consulting with the volunteer committee, and sharing plans with key stakeholders such as the security provider, neighbouring venues, local authority & Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust, ProMed agreed on a suitable level of provision, which included a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Paramedic as clinical lead, and an experienced Operations Manager to lead the team and liaise with representatives from each agency during the show.

“We’re pleased to have again been chosen by Bradford Pride to plan for and provide a safe & suitable level of event medical cover to their annual event,” says Managing Director, Matt Dinnery. “Our team on the day was appropriately clinical led in the delivery of our healthcare & welfare services, backed up with excellent operational support, both from our event manager on the ground, and in the planning completed prior by our administration team.”

Thankfully the team had a relatively easy day, but provided assistance to several customers. Staff were positioned in key areas, in addition to the treatment post we provided. A roaming team was available during the show to respond to calls from the stewards & security staff, and to assist casualties on scene.

Thanks to the professional staff and the success of this year’s event, ProMed are already discussing next year’s event with organisers and safety authorities.
