You should ensure you have emailed electronic copies of all documentation required to confirm you are eligible to be a candidate on the course to us at least 7 days before the course start.

All qualification certificates will be checked for validity with their awarding body.

We will select a random sample of documents to be verified with the original issuer.

Clothing

Our courses are generally practical in nature. We recommend you wear casual, comfortable clothing (such as t-shirts, sweaters & trousers) that you don’t mind getting a little dirty during your course. This is especially important during first aid courses where you will also be acting as a casualty for another candidate to practice on. All courses involve some amount of physical exertion. You are likely to be kneeling & lying on the floor during your course.

Please don’t wear anything that can be seen up, down or through. This includes pencil & short skirts, leggings that go see-through when stretched, low cut or baggy blouses, etc, as this may embarrass you and those around you.

For courses with an outdoor element please wear/bring with you:

  • Waterproof coat/jacket
  • Suitable outdoor boots or shoes
  • Warm sweater
  • Hat / baseball cap
  • Sunglasses
  • Sun cream
  • Warm gloves

Assessment information

Specific assessment methods for each course are fully listed on the course pages. Typically these include practical and written/multiple choice assessment.

You will be required to undertake and pass all of these, in order for you to pass the course and qualify for you certificate.

Reasonable adjustments

If you have any other health conditions or disabilities that you would like us to be aware of then please do let us know, particularly if there is anything we can do to make your experience more enjoyable.

Should you need us to make reasonable adjustments for any physical impairments, allergies, learning needs, or having English as an additional language (EAL), etc, please get in touch with us ASAP as we may need to discuss these with the Awarding Organisation (where appropriate) several weeks in advance of the course assessment date.

Please do let us know if you have any health conditions that you think may be exacerbated by the level of physical exertion required of this course.

Arrival time

We request that you aim to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the published start time. This will allow you to have a brew & meet your coursemates before the first session begins promptly.

The course director reserves the right to deny admission to any candidate who turns up more than 15 minutes after the published start time on any day, without prior notification.

Breaks & lunch

Breaks will be provided throughout the day. We usually allow 30-45 minutes for lunch.

Referral & failure

Whilst every attempt shall be made on our part to train students to the required level to award the relevant qualification, it is inevitable that a small proportion will be unsuccessful.

The Course Director shall have two options in this case:

  • to refer the student – where they must retake one or more elements at a later date
  • to fail the student – where they must retake the full training again at a later date.

The Course Director’s decision on this matter is final and does not entitle the student to any form of refund.

Students that are referred usually liaise directly with the Course Director to agree a mutually convenient time to retake the required elements – please note that additional training is chargeable at £25.00+VAT per hour.

Students that have failed are required to rebook at their convenience – please note that that full course fees are still chargeable in this case.
