Matt Dinnery, Managing Director


Matt Dinnery wearing Northumbria University academic dressMatt Dinnery is ProMed’s Managing Director. He’s responsible for overall service delivery, the overall management of staff, business development, and our communications systems.

Qualifications & certification

Matt first completed the Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG) Major Incident Medical Management and Support (MIMMS) course in April 2015 with Disaster Management Training at London Ambulance Service NHS Trust‘s Fulham Ambulance Station. This provider qualification was recertified in March 2019.

Matt attained a Bachelor of Science honours (BSc (Hons)) degree in Biomedical Sciences, conferred in July 2012 from The University of Northumbria at Newcastle, classified as lower second class (2:ii). His degree included modules covering cell biology, genetics, immunology, pathological sciences, anatomy, physiology, biotechniques, molecular genetics, cellular pathology, haematology, transfusion science, medical microbiology, analytical methods, molecular cellular interactions and metabolic & clinical biochemistry.

In July 2017, Matt Dinnery spent a week at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust‘s Clinical Skills Centre on their Pre-Hospital Emergency Practitioner (PHEP) course, which is approved, and the certificate issued, by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care (FPHC). This course was a recertification of the skills he attained in October 2014, when he also received a certificate from The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) in Bleeding Control for the Injured (B-Con).

Matt recertified on a Resuscitation Council UK (RC(UK)) Immediate Life Support (ILS) course at Nottingham City Hospital in July 2017. He previously recertified at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead in November 2015. He first did this training in October 2014.

Matt completed the Pearson Edexcel Institute of Health Care Development (IHCD) First Person On Scene – Intermediate (FPOS-I) certificate with North East Rescue And Medical Services (NERAMS), via Graspan Frankton at their Wylam Station training venue, which was valid until 16/07/2017.

Disclosure

Matt has four standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates (June & September 2015, 2018) on the update service, a standard CRB certificate (June 2012) and an enhanced CRB certificate (May 2007).

Driving

Matt has held a full Category B driving licence issued in the UK since 23/09/2013.

Most recently, Matt Dinnery passed the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) Skill for Life test in November 2019, a standard which he first attained in August 2015. Matt is a Fellow of the IAM.

Health & safety

Matt Dinnery was awarded a Level 3 Certificate in Health and Safety by Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC), following the completion of their e-learning course in September 2015.

Other licenses

Matt also holds active frontline SIA licenses for Door Supervision (expiry 16/06/2021) and Public Space CCTV Surveillance (expiry 20/10/2021).

Matt Dinnery holds a Personal Licence, under The Licensing Act 2003, issued by Newcastle City Council in September 2015.

Matt Dinnery’s experience

Matt was the Medical Controller for Leeds City Council’s Millennium Square Summer Series 2015, at Red Bull Soapbox in July 2015, at Chelsea Football Club’s Victory Parade and Slam Dunk North in May 2015. Prior to that, he was the Medical Controller at Shindig ByDayByNight XXII in May 2014.

Matt is currently the Medical Co-ordinator for Bradford Pride, which he has been since May 2016. Matt was the Medical Co-ordinator at both Northern Pride and Northbridge Festival in July 2015. Prior to that, he has been Medical Co-ordinator at Corbridge Festival in July 2014 and Malton Food Lovers Festival in May 2014.

Matt was Medical Manager at Holi One Colour Festival Brighton in July 2014.

Matt prepared the Medical, Ambulance & First Aid Operational Plans for Northbridge Festival & Northern Pride, which took place in July 2015. He also planned the medical provision at Chelsea Football Club’s Victory Parade and at Slam Dunk North in May 2015. During 2014, Matt planned the medical, ambulance & first aid provision at Precision Pass Football Tournament Leeds, Malton Food Lovers Festival, Mighty Dub Festival, Corbridge Festival and Carnage (UK) Newcastle.

Matt has been a medic for events since 2008, including Abbey Dash, Age UK 10k Harewood House, Bramley Park Fireworks, British Gas Treks Britain, Cage Warriors Newcastle, Carnage (UK) Leeds, Clarence Park Festival, Club No 65, Emirates Go East Festival Birmingham, Emirates Go East Festival Newcastle, Halifax Agricultural Show, Holi One Brighton, Holi One Glasgow, Holi One Manchester, Holi One Newcastle, Holi One Nottingham, Ice Cube Leeds, Ilkley Carnival, Kieradan Park Motocross, Leeds Christmas Lights Switch On, Leeds German Christmas Market, Leeds LGBT Pride, Leeds West Indian Carnival, Manchester Pride, Plusnet Yorkshire Half-Marathon, Shindig W34, Total Warrior Leeds, Yarndale, York Racecourse & Warehouse Project.

Non-medical

Matt has undertaken the role of Security/Stewarding Controller at Salford’s Big Day Out 2015, Castle Howard Concerts 2015, Iron Man Bolton 2015, Manchester Air Show 2015, Horwich Festival of Racing 2015, Sky Ride Bolton 2015, Tour de Yorkshire 2015 Hebden Bridge and Wrexposure 2015. In this role, Matt works alongside Medical Controllers from other organisations, and takes the opportunity to learn from their practices, as well as increase his breadth of experience in multi-agency control room setups.

Matt has also planned/managed/controlled Calderdale Pride 2010-14, Halifax Charity Gala 2011-present, Mashup Festival 2013, Halifax Agricultural Show 2014.

Matt was also a volunteer shift co-ordinator for Northumbria Blood Bikes overnight regularly in 2015/16.
