Television & film production unit medics

ProMed can provide complete medical cover for your production ranging from a single responder up to a multi-disciplinary healthcare team with treatment facilities based on your needs. Whether it is a short training video or a full feature-length film production we have the resources to supply the staff and equipment you need.

We understand that a quick film shoot can be a long day. You can be assured that our staff are used to working in this environment. We will be there until the site has been declared safe and are our contact person has agreed that we can leave.

Our team are used to working on-set and on location. Wherever the production unit goes, you can be confident that ProMed will be there.

The nature of filming means that you may need need to work at all hours of the day. An outdoor night scene has to be shot at night. With the availability of our medical team, you can be confident that ProMed will adapt to your schedule, even short-notice changes.

ProMed can provide cover for set rigging and de-rigging, if so desired.

Vehicle and prop hire for productions

ProMed have available a range of vehicles which can be used in television and film shoots. Our frontline emergency ambulances are great either as a background prop or in action shots. Rapid Response Vehicles are also suitable for showing ambulance staff arriving to a scene.

Old AEDs such as the Heartstart 911 are only used in film & TV production - they're definitely not for clinical use!
An old Laerdal HeartStart 911 (circa 2000-2004) , complete with pads & ancilliary items.

Alongside our vehicle fleet we can provide a selection of medical props ranging from heart monitors to ambulance trolleys. We can arrange for the use of any equipment or uniform, should you require; alternatively, we can provide suitable staff as “extras” to be in the background.

Production locations

ProMed’s staff, vehicles & props are available throughout the UK.

In 2020, our teams have been in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in Ipswitch, Suffolk, in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, in Poynton, Cheshire, in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, in Crawley, Sussex and in Exeter, Devon. Our unit medics & CoVID-19 Supervisors have worked all across London, including Wimbledon, Haringay, Crystal Palace, Bethnal Green, Royal Docks, Hatch End, Bermondsey, Neasden, Hanwell, Mile End, Kings Cross, Bayswater & Notting Hill. We’ve worked with a range of studios including Maryland Studios, Kennington Studios, Crell Studios, East London Studios & Mark and Marko.

Previously, we’ve provided staff to 4 locations simultaneously for a feature film. This was based at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden, near Watford, Hertforshire. Construction medics were deployed to Longcross Studios, near Chertsey, Surrey. Our locations team supported the production at Hyde Park, London, as well as an equestrian centre in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. A former school was used as a production base for costuming & other departments; our service was often called upon to ensure the weekend working was kept safe & healthy.

Another feature film has required unit medics for underwater studio work. They also requested additional cover for the deconstruction of a large outdoor set. Despite this overrunning their schedule, we were able to meet their needs with ease.

For television adverts, our production medics have worked on-set in Media City & Salford Quays, Greater Manchester. We also provide location medics in Trafford Park, Manchester for this service, too.

A BBC One TV series, now available on Amazon Prime Video, used our production medic service at Kirkstall Abbey, near Leeds in Yorkshire.
